Terms of Service
Effective October 12, 2026 · Last updated October 12, 2026
Please read these Terms carefully. Section 15 contains a binding arbitration agreement and a class action and jury trial waiver that affect how disputes are resolved. You may opt out of arbitration as described in Section 15.8.
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Greater Good Labs ("Greater Good Labs," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your access to and use of our websites (including www.greatergoodlabs.io), our apps (including Rebar and Claude Credits), and any related content, software, data, features, and services (together, the "Services"). By accessing, downloading, installing, or using any part of the Services, or by clicking to accept these Terms, you agree to be bound by them and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" includes the organization.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services, and at least the age of majority where you live (or have the consent of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms) to make purchases. You may not use the Services if you are barred from doing so under applicable law. You represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
2. Changes to the Services and these Terms
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, for any reason, with or without notice, and without liability to you. Many Services are experimental, labeled "in the lab," "prototype," "beta," or similar, and may change substantially or stop working at any time.
We may modify these Terms at any time by posting the revised Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Changes take effect when posted unless we say otherwise. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Services. Changes to Section 15 will not apply to any dispute of which we had actual notice before the change.
3. License to use the Services
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access and use the Services, and to install our apps on devices you own or control, solely for your own lawful use. Where a component of the Services is distributed under a separate license (for example, an open data or open source license), that license governs your use of that component, and these Terms apply to everything else.
All rights not expressly granted are reserved. The Services, including all software, designs, text, graphics, logos, animations, data, and other content, and all intellectual property rights in them, are owned by Greater Good Labs or its licensors. "Greater Good Labs," our app names, and our logos are our trademarks. You may not use them without our prior written permission.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to, and not to help or allow anyone else to:
- copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or create derivative works of the Services, except as expressly permitted by these Terms or by a separate license that applies to a component;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to discover source code or underlying algorithms, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction;
- remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary, license, or attribution notice;
- access the Services by automated means (such as bots, scrapers, or crawlers) except standard search engine indexing, or in a manner that exceeds reasonable request volumes;
- interfere with, disrupt, overload, probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services or any related system or network, or circumvent any security, rate limit, or access control;
- use the Services to violate any law or any third party's rights, including intellectual property and privacy rights, or to violate the terms of any third-party service the Services connect to;
- upload or transmit malware or any harmful, unlawful, infringing, or objectionable material;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
- use the Services to build a competing product or service, or for benchmarking intended for publication, without our written consent; or
- use the Services in any manner we reasonably believe is harmful to us, our users, or others.
5. Fitness, exercise, and health disclaimer
The Services, including Rebar, are provided for general informational and record-keeping purposes only. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and are not a substitute for the advice of a physician, physical therapist, certified trainer, or other qualified professional. Nothing in the Services creates a professional relationship of any kind.
Exercise, including strength training, involves inherent risks of serious injury, illness, disability, and death. Consult a physician before beginning any exercise program, and stop exercising and seek medical attention if you experience pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, or other symptoms. Exercise demonstrations, animations, muscle highlights, instructions, estimates (such as estimated one-rep maximums, volume, and progress figures), and health metrics shown in the Services may be incomplete, inaccurate, simplified, or unsuitable for you. Do not rely on them for safety-critical decisions. Always use proper form, appropriate weights, safety equipment, and a spotter where appropriate.
You voluntarily assume all risks associated with any exercise or physical activity you undertake in connection with the Services, and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, you release the Greater Good Labs Parties (defined in Section 11) from any and all claims arising out of or related to such activity.
Health and fitness data the Services read from or write to third-party platforms (such as Apple Health) may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. The Services are not medical devices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, or prevent any disease or condition.
6. Third-party services and Claude Credits
The Services may integrate with, rely on, or link to third-party products, services, platforms, and data, including Apple, Google, Anthropic, and GitHub ("Third-Party Services"). We do not control and are not responsible for Third-Party Services, including their availability, accuracy, security, content, or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies, and you are solely responsible for complying with them. A Third-Party Service may change or stop working with the Services at any time, and we have no liability for that.
Claude Credits is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or supported by Anthropic. "Claude" and related marks belong to their respective owners. Claude Credits displays information obtained from Anthropic's services using credentials stored on your device. Figures it shows, including usage, limits, reset times, spend, and balances, are estimates that may be delayed, incomplete, or wrong, and may stop working if Anthropic changes its services. Do not rely on Claude Credits for billing, budgeting, or any decision where accuracy matters. Check your official Anthropic account. You are solely responsible for your credentials, API keys, and your use of Anthropic's services.
7. Your content and feedback
You are responsible for any data, text, or other material you submit to, store in, or transmit through the Services ("Your Content"), and you represent that you have all rights needed to do so. To the extent Your Content is transmitted to or stored by us, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, and display it as needed to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Services and as described in our Privacy Policy.
Much of Your Content is stored only on your device. You are solely responsible for backing it up. We are not responsible for any loss, corruption, or deletion of Your Content, whether caused by app updates, device failure, uninstallation, or anything else.
If you send us ideas, suggestions, bug reports, or other feedback, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, fully paid, sublicensable, transferable license to use, modify, and commercialize it for any purpose without restriction, compensation, or attribution, and you waive any moral rights in it.
8. Purchases, subscriptions, and licenses
Some Services or features may require payment, now or in the future. Prices, features, and availability may change at any time. Purchases made through an app store are subject to that store's terms, payment processing, and refund policies. Unless required by law or expressly stated otherwise, all fees are non-refundable and there are no refunds or credits for partially used periods, unused features, or discontinued Services. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled through the platform you purchased from. You are responsible for all applicable taxes. Commercial licenses for any part of the Services are governed by a separate written agreement, which controls over these Terms where they conflict.
9. Copyright complaints
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe material available through the Services infringes your copyright, send a notice to [email protected] that includes: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the copyrighted work; identification and location of the allegedly infringing material; your contact information; a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf. We may remove material and terminate repeat infringers at our discretion.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services and all content, data, software, and information made available through them are provided "as is," "as available," and "with all faults," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. Greater Good Labs and the Greater Good Labs Parties expressly disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components; that defects will be corrected; that any data will be preserved, accurate, or complete; or that the Services will meet your requirements or produce any particular result. Any material downloaded or otherwise obtained through the Services is obtained at your own risk, and you are solely responsible for any damage to your device or loss of data that results. No advice or information, oral or written, obtained from us or through the Services creates any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.
11. Limitation of liability
"Greater Good Labs Parties" means Greater Good Labs, its parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, and each of their respective owners, members, managers, founders, directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, suppliers, successors, and assigns.
To the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) in no event will the Greater Good Labs Parties be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, data, or use, personal injury, property damage, or cost of substitute goods or services, arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services, however caused, under any theory of liability (contract, tort including negligence, strict liability, product liability, or otherwise), even if advised of the possibility of such damages; and (b) the total aggregate liability of the Greater Good Labs Parties for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services will not exceed the greater of (i) the amount you paid us for the Service giving rise to the claim in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to liability, or (ii) fifty U.S. dollars (US$50). These limitations apply even if any remedy fails of its essential purpose, and they are an essential basis of the bargain between you and us.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Greater Good Labs Parties from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, losses, liabilities, damages, judgments, settlements, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your access to or use of the Services; (b) Your Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; (d) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party; (e) any exercise or physical activity you undertake; or (f) your use of any Third-Party Service. We may assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification, at your expense, and you will cooperate with our defense. You may not settle any such matter without our prior written consent.
13. Release
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release the Greater Good Labs Parties from all claims, demands, and damages of every kind, known and unknown, arising out of or related to disputes between you and any third party, any Third-Party Service, or any exercise or physical activity in connection with the Services. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code § 1542, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party." You waive any similar law in any other jurisdiction.
14. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to all or any part of the Services at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice, and without liability. You may stop using the Services at any time. Upon termination, all licenses granted to you end immediately. Sections 3 (ownership), 5 through 7, and 9 through 19 survive termination, together with any other provision that by its nature should survive.
15. Dispute resolution: binding arbitration and class action waiver
15.1 Informal resolution first. Before filing any claim, you agree to email us at [email protected] with a description of the dispute and the relief you seek, and to try in good faith to resolve it informally for at least sixty (60) days.
15.2 Agreement to arbitrate. Except as provided in Section 15.5, you and Greater Good Labs agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Services, or the relationship between you and any Greater Good Labs Party, including claims that arose before these Terms and disputes about the scope, enforceability, or arbitrability of this Section, will be resolved exclusively by final and binding individual arbitration. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this Section.
15.3 Rules and procedure. Arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect, before a single arbitrator. Unless the parties agree otherwise, the arbitration will be conducted remotely or in the county where you reside. Payment of filing and arbitrator fees will be governed by the AAA's rules. The arbitrator may award relief only on an individual basis and only to the extent necessary to resolve your individual claim.
15.4 Class action and jury trial waiver. You and Greater Good Labs each agree that claims may be brought only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, private attorney general, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims of more than one person or preside over any form of representative or class proceeding. You and Greater Good Labs each waive any right to a trial by jury.
15.5 Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies, and either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in court to protect its intellectual property rights or to stop unauthorized use or abuse of the Services.
15.6 Mass filings. If twenty-five (25) or more similar demands for arbitration are filed by or with the help of the same or coordinated counsel, they will be administered in batches under the AAA's mass arbitration procedures, and the parties agree to cooperate to resolve them efficiently.
15.7 Severability of this Section. If the class action waiver in Section 15.4 is found unenforceable as to any claim, that claim must be severed and brought in court, and will be stayed pending arbitration of all other claims. If any other part of this Section is found unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
15.8 Thirty-day right to opt out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing [email protected] within thirty (30) days after you first accept these Terms, with your name and a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
15.9 Time limit. To the fullest extent permitted by law, any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services must be filed within one (1) year after it arises, or it is permanently barred.
16. Governing law and venue
These Terms and any dispute between you and Greater Good Labs are governed by the laws of the State of Massachusetts and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. For any matter not subject to arbitration, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in the State of Massachusetts, and waive any objection to those courts based on inconvenient forum.
17. Apps obtained from Apple's App Store
If you obtain an app from Apple's App Store, you and we acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Greater Good Labs only, not Apple, and that Greater Good Labs, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content. Your license to the app is limited to use on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation with respect to the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, or intellectual property infringement claims. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Questions or claims about the app should be directed to [email protected].
18. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any separate license or agreement referenced in them are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services, and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.

- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer them freely, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

- Relationship. No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship is created by these Terms.
